Re: Passengers on MV Georgic, Southampton to Sydney, August 1955
my friend in England seems to think her brother sailed in September on the Georgic but it seems that it left in the August of 1955 from Southampton. Her brother came to Q'ld where he worked in the bush for the Drilling Branch of the then Mines Dept. I knew him through working in the Dept. and he returned to the UK after a couple of years and came back to Q'ld in 1967 to work with the Drilling branch again for a few years. His name was Clifford Mason and his family and I are great friends (Just spent some great times with them in UK) Unfortunately he passed away in 1978 so just doing a bit of research. Must have been the Georgic's final voyage.

Re: Passengers on MV Georgic, Southampton to Sydney, August 1955
Hi Brian, I travelled with my parents and younger brother from Tilbury to Sydney arriving 29th September 1955, and I do remember parts of the trip I actually have some photos of us in Las Palmas, we made friends with a family of four called the Coyles mum, dad, Yvonne & Chris. But as kids we had a great time of course, I can remember going up in the "crows nest" with a crew member, even though it was highly illegal. Also remember the weather being really cold after leaving Las Palmas. We had family in Wagga Wagga which is where we flew to and went to school there and worked in the PO as a telegram boy, then moved to Sydney after mum got very ill. I now live in Jannali nsw. Hope this was of interest to you.
Cheers Steve

Re: Passengers on MV Georgic, Southampton to Sydney, August 1955
I'm not sure if you are still chasing the above data, but it is available in the UK, Outward Passenger Lists, 1890-1960. Unfortunately I've not yet found who disembarked where, but I 've still got a lot of irons in the fire Rick

Re: Passengers on MV Georgic, Southampton to Sydney, August 1955
My connection with the GEORGIC (Liverpool to Australia 23 Aug 1955 - Sep 1955) is with a Cousin William Abraham Ainsworth & Family). I agree I have found the Outbound Passenger List but despite extensive searching have failed to find the port of disembarkation.
I'd be very happy to interact with ANYONE who know anything about the Family & there whereabouts Rick, Melbourne

Hi Dianne, if you go to Bradfield Park Migrant Hostel on Facebook you can talk to literally hundreds of people that came out in similar circumstances and also dozens like myself who were on that very same boat, regards Ted.
