Have you tried Los Angeles census records? Do you have any contact with your brother Raul, he may have some info. Also you may want to try familysearch.org, they have a very large library. Could your mother give you any information as to where the bakery your father worked was located? it may still be there, and if not, maybe the city could give you information on the buss. license i.e owner's name(s) address, etc. and try to look for them or the owner(s)sons (males are easier to locate since they do not change last names)maybe they were old enough when most likely they also worked at the bakery.
