Waltz, Walz from Ukraine.

Hello, I'm looking WALZ (maybe WALTZ) families.

My grandma - MARIA WALTZ (WALZ) (b. 190x, d. 1974).
Before WWII her family lived in Ukraine (near Dnepropetrovsk city). I don't known names of her mother or father, sorry...
She married KUZMA CHAYUKOV.

They had two children- daughter Ludmila (my mother, 1936-2002) and son Alexander (my uncle, b. 193x).

Maybe someone knows WALZ (WALTZ) or Chayukov families from Ukraine (Dnepropetrovsk), please help...

Few days ago I found information about Piotr (Peter) Walz (b. 1912) which was born from Shchorsk (~50km from Dnepropetrovsk). He was soldier at war and was killed in 1944. Maybe this man was from same family as my grandmother?

Thank you.

P.S. When my mother LUDMILA CHAYUKOVA was alive once time tell me name of village where they lived... she said that this place was about ~40km from Dnepropetrovsk. I was little boy I don't remember now exactly.... but it was german name (like Neuedorf, Neubach or smth..) not russian (not like Andreyewka, Golubewo or smth...)

Hello,

I have no info about those surnames but a good source to find information is the Odessa website.

My grandmother was from Dnepropetrovsk too.

Many of the towns were called neu... as they were Germany colonies and "neu" means "new".

Hello, thank you for reply. I know that in Odessa there was many germans and possibly with Waltz (Walz) surname too. I think that in these times peoples don't went far from their hometown.

From my last post I have some information about my grandma. Her full name was Magdalena Waltz (or Walz) and one man told me that village where our ancestors live was near Sinelnikovo (~30km to East from Dnepropetrovsk). He told me that my grandma had two sisters and in WWII when they all were deported to Germany my grandma's sisters stayed in Germany after WWII.

I know that her (Magdalena's) husband was Kuzma Chayukov (1909-1952, died in Soviet concentration camp in Abez, Vorkuta). Him father was Ostah by name.

I think many my ancestors and relatives died in Holodomor or was killed by soviets NKVD :(

Hello
I have no exact information about your relatives but I can give you the internet-site of Sinelnikovo - it's http://sinelnikovo.org.ua/
Unfortunately it's in Russian only, but if you find smb speaking russian you can post the advertisement at the message board there. The population of the village os 38000 only, so I think you can expect some call back.
Also there is one social net - www.odnoklassniki.ru. I found some Chayukovs leaving in Odessa and Kharkov there. Maybe you should write them as this surname is not common at all.

If you want I can write them on your name and ask if the know about your grandparents.

With best wishes,
Svetlana

My great great grandmother was Dorethea Walz, born in the German colony of Heilbrunn, near Semferopol, in the Crimea. Her father was Johannes Walz Birth 31 May 1800 in Feuerbach, Lorrach, Baden-Wuerttemberg, Germany
Death 6 Apr 1857 in Heilbrunn, Crimea, Russia.

Perhaps there is some kind of connection there?

Hello, thank you for post. I think there isn't connection between my relatives and yours :(
Dnepropetrovsk (Ekaterinoslavl) is too far from Crimea by distances in 1800's.

Thank you, Hania for help. I remember you from conversations in Ukraine forum.

I'm sorry I don't remember exactly my mum told me that village name, I was young boy :(

I'm very disappointed almost 10 years I'm trying to find my relatives from my mother's side... I posted many messages to many forums- no success :(
I'm totally stuck in the wall.

I have noticed that on odessa3.org, while there are few people with the name Walz, there are many with Welz. Could your family name have been modified along the way?
