I am looking for Wladislaw (Walter) Kozlowski. I have a good bit of info about him once he arrived here in the states in 1913, but, I want to track back to his hometown. On his ship manifest, he listed "Slupeza" (or Slupca?) Poland as his residence. Family knowledge tells me he came from the Bialystok area. Slupeza doesn't exist and Slupca is not very close to Bialystok- Poznan would have been closer. So, I am having a hard time tracking this back.

He listed several people on his naturalization cards/his ship manifest but none of those names are leading me anywhere. On the other side, he never talked about his family much to his children (one of which is my grandmother). So, we don't have much history in that way. We don't even know his parent's names....And go figure- his name is made up of two very common polish names. We don't even have his true d.o.b.- its either May/March 1894/1896.........Any recommendations are greatly appreciated!

Also, we are all Roman Catholic- so I have been trying to search those records. But, being that Bialystok (primarily Jewish then) was so often talked about, I am wondering if he was Jewish and left all of that (and his parents/siblings) behind for his new life?

Again, thank you. :)
