My story is similar to yours. Hugh Roderick Cameron and Flora Polly Gillis came over from Skye about 1811. The family bible says they were at sea 3 months and one child was born at sea. They settled in Kershaw County South Carolina where there were many McCaskills also. I've been told they came over on the ship "Scotia" which sailed from Liverpool via Scotland then Ireland to Wilmington, NC. I will gladly share whatever information I have if you'll do the same.
