Looking for passenger list for the ship, IRISH VOLUNTEER, which arrived in South Carolina 1771-1773. Looking for ancestors, Robert and Elenore Love and Robert's cousin, William Love and their families.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm sorry to say I have not yet uncovered or received any information on the "VOLUNTEER". If or when I do, I would be more than happy to share it with you if you send me your email address.

I am also looking for information about the Irish Volunteer. My relatives apparently sailed from Ireland on this ship in 1782 (1783?1784?). But, they apparently disembarqued at Philadelphia, not South Carolina. Do you know if the Irish Volunteer make stops along the coast on the way south to SC?

A kind gentleman sent me scanned pictures of the Charleston gazette which had advertisements for the Irish Volunteer about the time you are looking for. But, no mention of Philadelphia.

Were there any ships from the County Antrim area of NI to SC in the 1790's that are listed? My Irish immigrant on his 1810 application for naturalization stated that he had been in SC for seven years. I know that his last daughter was born in Ireland in 1795 and his first son born in Laurens, SC was in 1798. My ancestor was Patrick Todd (1768-1852) who married Janet Carmichael in Ireland. They were enumerated on the 1800 Laurens, SC census.

I think I found him voting in Carneatly or Ballyalbanagh in County Antrim in 1790. I would certainly like to know for sure where he was born, married, and his parents' names.
