Ana, Thank-you, for asking about, Jennie. I would be delighted to tell you anything I know about her. My, home email address is: dianeberman@hotmail.com. Please don't hesitate to send me any questions.
The Pildescu family arrived in the US in 1907. The family came began their journey from, Roman. I'm not sure if the city was where they lived. In, 1907, Jewish families were told to leave the country. The Pildescu relatives lived in, Brownsville Brooklyn, NY and the family joined them in, Brooklyn. We aren't sure who changed the spelling of their surname to, Pildescue. My, great-grandfather, was called by the name, Frank, but his given name was, Ephraim. (Spelling may not be correct) My, great-grandmother's name was, Clara. There were four daughters, Sarah, Lucy, (my grandmother), Minnie, and Jennie. A researcher named, Michael Hirsch, who is listed on facebook but may be on, Ancestry. It's been a few years since I was on this site but I think he sent me a message from, Ancestry. He is a researcher who is active in the history of the, Triangle, fire. He believes there was a son, Louis, but I'm not sure if he was a son or a nephew. He shows in census records. Michael, found, Jennie, and her parents, buried in, Washington Cemetery, Brooklyn, NY. Their last name and my great-grandfather's first name are correct on their gravestones. I was able to find, Jennie"s death certificate. My, grandmother's name was, Lucy. Cornell College, NY, has a collection of memorabilia from the fire. (Try online) Michael has coordinated with the college. Historians, have some disagreement on the facts so I don't really know which history is correct. My first cousin, Steve, a child of Lucy's son lives in Hartford. Lucy, lived in, Woodbury, Ct., when she married so I spent time in Ct. when I was a child. We took my grandmother to visit her friend because she lost her husband and moved back to, Brooklyn. I was too young to have heard her talk about her family. Enjoy your evening. Diane
