I have found my grandparents on this ship leaving Hamburg on 6 Apr 1881 to America via London. Does anyone know if it was the same ship leaving London and did it arrive in New York or some other American city and also the date it may have arrived in America? Thanks

The ship Ophelia was built in 1879 in Hamburg, Germany it apparently sailed between Hamburg and London. See link scroll down list to find - Ophelia - one of four built.

Thank you so much. Do you know if there are arrival records in NYC for this ship? Do I assume it came into Castle Garden? Do they have records I wonder.

I am sorry, went back and looked again and that appears to be a departure record from Hamburg, is in German so I can't read. Give your relatives names and approximate ages and maybe some one can help.

I have found them on that Hamburg departure manifest on page 152/153. Last name is RZEPECKI Maciej, Katarzyna, and 4 children plus his cousin Jan
Name Age
Macicj Rzepecki 34
Katarina Rzepecki 30
Jan Rzepecki 25 (Maciej's cousin)
Stanislava Rzepecki 5
Woiciech Rzepecki 4
Wladislav Rzepecki 3
Vincenty Rzepecki 1
I really am looking for their arrival manifest into NYC. They ended up in Detroit Michigan and I am also curious how they got there? also do you know what the fare may have been. Must have been a grueling trip all the way from Posen Poland to Detroit especially with 4 children aged 5 and younger.Do you know where I can get a photo of the ship?

This maybe Katarina/Catherine in the 1900 Census perhaps they may have adopted Americanized first names also on Census look above her name it appears her oldest son got married and has two children at the same address. See link
