Chatten family cannot be located

I have looked and looked for years for immigration info on the Chatten family. The family lived in Durham County, England prior to coming to the United States. Three of their children were born in England. Ellenor, 1864, Isabella, 1867 and Jonathan 1869. His wife Grace was also born in Durham. First and last place I can locate in the United States is Johnson County, Missouri. On the 1900 census it states they came to the U.S. in 1871, however I have them listed in the 1870 census, anyway, I have done much research and found that a lot of folks who moved to that area took passage via New Orleans, then steamship up the Mississippi...however, I cannot find this to be the case. I cannot find the Chatten family anywhere! I know they got here, but HOW???

Thought this may be of interest to you. I do not have any Chatten's in my tree (that I am aware of)

Ship name: City of Manchester, arrived at Port of New York on April 19, 1870, from Liverpool.

Ellen Chatten 5 yrs./4 mo. (transcribed as Ollen, but handwritten Ellen) all born England
Isabella Chatten 3 yrs./10 mo.
Albert Chatten 8 mo. born August (Is it possible that Albert could be Jonathan's middle name?)

These children were listed between Bridget Murphy age 45 and a Roberts family, I could not find any other Chatten's on the passenger list. One possibility is that these children were sent with a family member or friend while parents took another ship, for whatever reason.

Good luck with your search!
