Hi

My name is Patricia Whiteley nee Beecroft. My mother and father answered and advert to travel to Africa on the Ivanstan in 1946 or 1947 not sure of the date. I have a newspaper cutting from when they left. There were some children on board which I was one of. I was about two. The journey I have been told took four and a half months. They travelled to Durban. I know of one other family The Holylands which we had some contact with for guite some time. I was looking for details about the boat and who bought it. We lived in Africa until 1966 when we returned to the UK. Sadly my father died in 1966 just after we returned.
I wondered where the boat left from it said Strood in the newspaper clipping.Also we do not have any pictures of the boat. I wonder if you do.
