Donna,
My name is Pat Halloran and I used to live opposite your grandmother at Cherry Tree Hill from 1952 when I was born, till the early 1970's.
As you probably know, from your mum's halloran history, aunty dod, as we use to call your grandma, was my grandfather's (Arthur Charles Hallinan [Halloran]) sister.
Doris's birth details were registered as HALLORAN and cosequently all the other Hallinan's changed to HALLORAN.
I would be very interested to know if your mum has any detail on why it was changed.
Looking forward to future contact!!!!!

Pat Halloran.

Hi Pat,
Good to hear from you, and Dora sends her fond regards. Dora said she does not know why the family changed their name to align with Grannies, she believes the original was a spelling mistake:that is theory only. She has some stuff here that Claudie Halloran sent to her if you would like copies. Apparently Peter and Maureen McCosker had the family bible- I am not sure if it is still with Maureen or whether one of their children now has it. We can find out if you wish. I will ask Laurel (Tony's widow) if she knows why the name change, as she was our early historian.
My email is donna.mckelvie@yahoo.com.au.

HI Emma
My name is Jill Margaret Scott (nee Wilson). My Mum was your grandmother's sister Doreen Wilson (Halloran). I remember your mother well along with Ann, Leon, Betty and Nick as we would always stay with Auntie Marie and Uncle Len on the way from our home in Wellington to spend Christmas every second year with Grandma Halloran at Amiens. After Mum died in 2012 we bought her house and when I was cleaning out the wardrobe I found an old cardboard box with photos of Halloran/O'Brien/McCosker weddings and soldiers who went to WW1. I am in the process of trying to find the direct descendents of these people and would be glad of any information you have that might help me. PS Say hello to your Mum for me.
Look forward to hearing from you
Jill

HI Dean
I know Frank Elba Halloran, he was my grandfather, my mother Doreen Wilson (nee Halloran) was his second daughter and Mum knew quite a lot of the family history but unfortunately she died in 2012 aged 95. After her death we bought the family home in Wellington NSW and when I was going through Mum's things I found and old cardboard box in her wardrobe with photos of the Halloran/O'Brien/ Mccosker family weddings, portraits and WW1 soldiers. I am trying to trace direct descendants of these and would love any information you might have that would help me.
By the way, who was your grandmother, was it Bonnie, Marie, Pat or Bid?
Look forward to hearing from you
Jill Scott (nee Wilson)
