Marsh Coats of Arms

Searching for all Marsh Coats of Arms. I am running a Marsh Families DNA Project, and I am looking to see if Coats of Arms can help trace the very early history of some Marsh families, and possibly suggest some family linkages which DNA may be used to test.

On the web site http://marshdna.arrrg.org I have listed 23 Marsh Coats of Arms, 15 of these being variants incorporating a horses head. My interest is to see if the use of horses heads of Coats of Arms indicates family links. I also list further Coats of Arms which may or may not have some links to Marsh families.

Looking deeper into history, a Norman de Marisco family who arrived in England in 1066, are believed to be ancestors of some present day Marshes, and also Maris families, and Morris families in Ireland. (Marisco, is the latin spelling of Marsh) One Marris family trace their line to the de Mariscos who arrived in 1066, and further back to a Marck family, and I have included information on the Coats of Arms for this family on the web site.

Geoffrey de Marisco, b.1150 England, Justicary of Ireland, was a descendant of the Norman de Mariscos, and was said to be the ancestor of the Irish Morris families. Does anybody know of a Coat of Arms for Geoffrey de Marisco?

Some March families from time to time have spelled their names Marsh. A Norman March family arrived in England 1066, and settled in Cambridgeshire. I wondered if "March" might have been a variant of "Marck", and therefore related to the de Mariscos, but I have so far not found any similarities in Marsh/ March Coats of Arms.

I am not an expert on Heraldry, and I would appreciate any help that anybody can give me on Marsh Coats of Arms, and any Marsh Coats of Arms which I have not listed.

Thanks, John Marsh.
