Hi,
I'm wondering whether anyone may be able to help identify the arms on a seal from an indenture made in 1724. The seal is of a John Turner, I have all his descendants, but a sticking point with getting back further in the tree is because there are numerous Turner families in Surrey (Guildford area) and I have up to now, been unable to establish which of those families he is related to. Having gone with my new toy, a digital camera, to Surrey History Centre, I noticed, and I have sat and transcribed this doc, that John Turner's and his wife Mary's seals had arms on them. Considering the age of the document, the seals are in fairly good condition, although, of course, being a seal, I have no idea as to what colours would have been used. The birds look like they could be Martletts, but can anyone help.
Attached is a jpeg of the seal.
Regards,
Ann Sadler
