I was researching bordures and I found this reference to bordure compony, which is the differencing mark of an illegitimate son.

(I am not saying anything about dishonor here.) I had incorporated this into a couple of my designs without knowing the implication. Is there a good reference about other uses of bordures and charges on bordures used in differencing.
