Hello Ryan:

You are definitely on the correct website to explore your families' roots. (Rootsweb.com and Acestry..com)

This particular message board is not a genealogical resource, but rather one for Coat of Arms and Heraldry. We can only address that aspect on this topic board.

Not all families had a Coat of Arms. They are earned by and granted to individuals. It is always easiest to track to a Coat of Arms if you have some family lore or knowledge that a particular person may have been a knight, duke or have some other standing in their country that would cause them to fall into the classification of people most likely to be found in the registers of those in charge of Heraldic Law.

My suggestion is that you begin with the Tutorial found (FREE) on Rootsweb's opening page http://rwguide.rootsweb.ancestry.com/ This will help you plan how to go about researching your family.

As Admin for this board, I have removed the names you put in the surname box as this topic board is not genealogical and the surname box is not used for this board.
Bilski, Whelan, Rinkowski, Flynn, Eitler, Eibig
When you post to the surname boards for your family names be sure to put ONLY the surnames that you mention in that post in the surname box.

It is entirely possible that people of your family surnames were Armigers and had a Coat of Arms awarded to them. However, sharing a family surname, does not always mean being related.

Good luck to you in your genealogical endeavors. It is fascinating to research and study the origins of your family.
