Identifying an unknown coat of arms

Identifying an unknown coat of arms

I have several engaved silver objects with coats of arms made during the Georgian period. On one, a large silver tankard, the COA is very clear, but there is no name or any identifying information on the tankard. I have searched several books with illustrations, but do not know the vocabulary of heraldry well enough to describe the COA nor have I been able to match the lion, which is the crest, exactly. How may I find out to whom this COA belonged? The tankard is unusually large and a fine example of Georgian silverwork and engraving.

Thanks.

If you could post a photograph of the arms you are asking about, it is very likely that someone here could help, both in giving you an heraldic blazon and in identifying to whom the arms belong.
