I have several engaved silver objects with coats of arms made during the Georgian period. On one, a large silver tankard, the COA is very clear, but there is no name or any identifying information on the tankard. I have searched several books with illustrations, but do not know the vocabulary of heraldry well enough to describe the COA nor have I been able to match the lion, which is the crest, exactly. How may I find out to whom this COA belonged? The tankard is unusually large and a fine example of Georgian silverwork and engraving.
Thanks.
