Years ago, a genealogy expert told me that the coat of arms was different for every family. When a family has a child, then that generation's coat of arms carries the left crest for the father's family, the right crest for the mother's family, and the bottom one/ones are for the royalty's beginning lineage, so that every generation's coat of arms is different. Has anyone heard this before?
