I'm sorry, I do not know what state. The letter was folded and had a paperclip on it. It was not in an envelope. Most of the information I have was in my original post. The letter was written Sept 17 1942 and he had been in Samoa for 6 months in a service company. That's about it. My Father was H.Richard Schupeltz and at the time in the 1st MARDIV. He served with the 7th Defense force while in Samoa. the second witness to the letter was a R.S. Hardenbrook.
