My father, Robert L. Admire (aka Bob) was stationed at Burtonwood possibly as early as August of 1943, but certainly by November, 1943. He was there at least until May, 1944 and may have been there as late as August, 1945. My father has since passed away and I've found a number of photos of three English women that I would like to return to the women or their families. I'm having a heck of time finding these women or anything more about them. The pictures contain the following names and addresses:

Miss Nora Chadwick (7 pictures plus one of her friend and possibly sister, Lois)
26 Meade Grove
Longsight, Manchester

Miss Elsie Swift (2 pics)
290 Crow Lane West
Newton Le Willows
Lancs.

Miss Margaret Topping
St. Helens
Lancs.

Any help in finding these women and getting their pictures back to them or their families would be greatly appreciated.

My great grandmother's sister was names Margaret Topping and she was from Lancashire as well. Could she be the one you have in the picture?

I have found the Margaret Topping I was looking for. She is alive and well and living in the UK under her married name (not Topping). Does this fit your great-aunt?

I have Janes Chadwick dob30 March 1805 in England, married Mary Preeson? He went to USA, 1830, my grandfather was born in Pottsvill, Pa. in1831. Any info. on this line would be very helpful.

Hello there, I am researching my family tree and came across your notice from 2000. My mothers cousin is the Elsie Swift mentioned in that notice. I did receive a cutting from a Lancashire paper a few years ago about the photos but was unable to arrange a copy.
