Thanks, Cyndi -- this makes a lot of sense.
I was always curious about my g-grandfather's immigration/naturalization dates -- what I read was that at the time, the minimum wating time was 4 years, 9 months between filing of first papers and being eligible for full citizenship -- so, based on those, one could assume he was in a real hurry to "get papers." But the data being incorrect is probably a more accurate assumption, and opens up my search a little more. Useful information -- and I appreciate the insight.
