Don, my grandfather built the store and the house next door in 1902. I believe that is the same year the Laurel Branch Church was built. My Aunt Lucy and her husband,Walter Harman, ran the store for awhile after grandpa left. This may be when he went to Nebraska.
In the thirties Mr Bond would buy field dressed wild rabbits at 10 cents to a quarter apiece.They had to caught in a box trap, he wouldn't take them if they had been shot The rabbbit fever hit the area and people stopped eating them for awhile
