I am currently beginning research on the paranormal, in particular, paranormal activity in Butler Township, Schuylkill County. Anyone who may have personnally experienced, or know of hauntings that have occurred in this area of the county I would be most interested in hearing your story. Also, if anyone knows of any situations or groups that may have been involved in satanic worship or anything related (historically) would also be appreciated. If you would like to know the results of the data I hope to collect (remember I am just beginning) please leave your e-mail or snail mail address and I will respond as I collect data. Thank you.

I have heard of many hauntings in the PA region especially where there are battle grounds and old burial grounds. There have been many books written on the subject but I can't be specific as it has been a long time since I have read any.
I remember as a young person reading and hearing about ghostly battle reenactments at Gettysburg on the anniversary of the battle. Beyond that I can't help you much.

Hi,
Most of my family came from Connerton, in Butler Township. Wish I had some great stories for you, but most of that part of the family is gone. I'd love to hear what you might uncover. Please email me at

Thanks.

I have a story I could write you personally about.
It's quite the story and very true.

McGuire,
Coleen...
I just found this 1998 query of yours...I'm hoping that, after all this time, you might still check it. I don't, unfortunately, have any stories of hauntings in Butler Township, but my McGuire ancestors lived in Butler Township and I was wondering whether yours did as well.
Thanks and I hope to hear from you...
Val

that property is now posted no trespassing. the only think that haunted that cemetary was the children in my fathers family. they would play there. they lived across the road from it. their home was destroyed when a truck load of explosives went off along the highway.
