There was an article about Alexander Goins in the June 1997 issue of Appalachian Quarterly, published in Wise, VA. I have a copy -- am a ggg grandaughter of Alexander Goins through his daughter Mary Missouri. Will share the article if you email me. Have read all the postings. Has anyone discovered his parents? Was he a Melungeon (I assume so!). I am looking for any old Goins family photographs from his family and will share the ones I have.
