Prior to Christmas each family member randomly picks another family member through a drawing. The family member they pick is their "secret pal" and they are to buy a nicer-than-normal present for this person. On Christmas Eve at midnight, we all exchange our secret pal gifts. It has been a fun tradition in my family for years.
