We published a book in October 2013 about the Civil War in the Ozarks based on the memoirs of John J. Chilton and official records, entitled Blue & Gray Cross Current. The Current River begins in Dent County Missouri and flows about one-hundred-fifty miles to the Black River which flows into the White River, which flows into the Mississippi River near Jacksonport, Arkansas.
