I realize this is somewhat old, but I thought I'd mention this:

My Greek-Cypriot relatives (dad's side) are very positive regarding my love of family history. No surprise there. The only somewhat negative response comes from my mom--she only objects to it because she wants me to focus on my future rather than 'some very nice people--nice but dull people who were also farmers'. Granted, I am 15. She has a point. I guess I'm lucky that no one has ever asked me to stop.
