Have you tried using
www.zabasearch.com
? It's free and gives the year of their birth to help you narrow down your phonecalls. Good Luck, but be very careful!

Send me an email. I may have found some family info for you. I can't make any progress on my own Greens, so I took a break to see if I could help you.

i was reading thru some old messages and came across yours. i do not agree with what you said, that the young lady should leave well alone, i have been in the same siuation and i continue till this day 49 yrs later still trying to unravel the secrets, i think as long as she thinks it all thru the pros and cons, and she has accepted the outcome may not be the one she wants, then GO FOR It.everyone has the right to know where they come from.thats life.

Contact everyone you can even if you don't like them or they don't like you. Contact the father you never knew. The worst that can happen is that he will say no.
Do this now as people get old and die, you may never have another chance.
It probably is no big issue. People are ashamed and hide things that really are no big deal.
By avoiding people you don't like, you will lose entire branches of family history. Just because one or two may have been less than nice people, doesn't mean the other relatives and ancestors were. There may be some significant or interesting family history.
We found an ancestor in my husband's tree that was at the surrender at Appomatix that ended the civil war. This was in the branch that the others did not associate with because ONE man was a real jerk.
