Why did we go to Beattyville?

The weekend of Oct. 20, my sister and two brothers and I traveled to Breathitt County, Kentucky to look for documentation of our Watkins lineage. Our cousins were involved in a big revival at their church and we decided to wander around a little Sunday morning. I had seen an announcement about the Wooly Worm Festival, so we went over to Beattyville to kill a couple hours until the cousins got home from church. We had a great time and took some wonderful pictures in and around Beattyville.
On the way back to Jackson, we stopped at a pull off to take some photos. I just had the most unusually sentimental feelings the whole time we were at the pull off on Route 30, overlooking the Middle Fork of the Kentucky River.
After we returned home, I went to the Lee County web site to just check it out, having really enjoyed our little sojourn over there.
Just for a hoot, I started looking around a couple of sites.
To preface, let me say that I had spent some very frustrating time trying to find my Grandma Effie Watkins' folks, the Davis family who was also from Kentucky. Well...to my absolute amazement, in a listing of death certificates there was my great-granddad, William Davis. I found out where he was born, who his father was, a son's name....I was thrilled.
It breached the "brick wall" I had encountered. I followed up with an email to the gal who input the info on William Davis. She has provided me with census information. That email also led to another source. The Davises are starting to open up for me now.
Now the spooky part.
When I picked up my photos from the trip I noticed something very unusual about the ones taken at that pull off overlooking the river. Everyone of the photos at that location have a rainbow on it somewhere. Yeah....you can say it was because of the sunlight or a reflection. There are also a couple of what looks like misty spots on two of the photos. I really think my ancestors knew we were there. Something tells me the rainbows were a little message to me.
Think what you want. I believe!!!
