Seeking info on Karl Fischer / Carl Fisher.

Karl Fisher was probably born about 1852 in Frienwalde, Germany. His father may have been Johann / John Fischer, a baker. Karl may have had two brothers: James and Charles and / or six sisters.

At age 21, Karl is found in Caledonia, Wisconsin working as a farm hand for Zam Zam, and had changed the spelling of his name to Carl Fisher.

On January 28, 1878, he married Bertha August Garske / Garska in Portage, Wisconsin. They traveled to Central City, Nebraska and purchased some land near Archer. They planted trees which are still known as Fisher Grove. There they had four children: Anna Adalia, Rose Maria, William Anton, Martha Helena.

In April 1885, they moved by covered wagon to south of Rushville, Sheridan County, Nebraska. There the following children were born: Henry, Carl, Benjamin, Elsie, Frank, and Mabel.

Carl received his citizenship papers in April 1896. He died Nov. 4, 1903 in a wagon team runaway near Rushville.

I have not been able to confirm his date or place of birth or anything about his family of origin. Any info greatly appreciated.

My great grandmother Bertha Garske married Wilhelm Seefeldt, the onl;y reason I'm writing is because I know she was born in Groww Benz Kr Naugard. I also know her parents. I'm certain Bertha was a very common name and perhaps your ancestor was from the same area.
