My name is Beth Bondie Metts. My gr.gr.gr. grandfather was George Eggebrecht b. around 1800 in Prussia. Was married to Mary Lucht.
His son was Carl Eggebrecht b.1830, also in Prussia. Carl was married to Fredreka Granzow.
They had six children. Their names are:
William b. 1857 in Prussia
Henry b. 1863 in Michigan
Bertha b.1865 in Michigan[This is my gr.grandmother who married Joseph Bondie]
Augusta b.1870 in Michigan
Charles b.1873 in Michigan
Lowesa b.1876 in Michigan.
I know they lived in Michigan, but the rest of Carl's family lived in Wisconsin. Carl is buried in Colby,Wisconsin.
Would love to hear from any Eggebrecht's ,that think we might be related.Did not know my father's family very well, and would like to meet them now. I guess you could say,"Better late than never. "
Thank-you for your time. Hope I hear back from any of my Eggebrecht cousins.
Thanks......Beth

While researching my family tree, I came across some information and items belonging to a Charles L. Eggebrecht that lived in Wisconsin. His birthplace was Wisconsin in 1873 (as listed in the 1920 federal census). He was a blacksmith. Married my gggrandmother's sister L. Adeline"Addie" McHugh. Chas. also had a sister Louise who is mentioned as well as the father of the two. My g grandmother inherited some Eggebrecht photos upon her cousin's death. Would like to try to find some of their family who is yearning for a piece of the past for their family tree. Contact me anytime. Can email photos if you 'd like more info!

I am the transcriber of the Colby (Clark and Marathon Counties) Centenninal Book (1873 to 1973).

It lists a Chas. Eggebrecht as the in the business of the Colby Kiln's. No other information is given such as a middle name or initial. Not sure if this is the same person that you are searching for, maybe a son or grandson.

I am not a family member, just a transcriber of information.

Kathy,
It's great hearing from you!
Yes, Charles is my ggrandmother's younger brother.
It's really great to find new cousins!
I would truly love to have copies of those pictures!!!!
You can either e-mail them to me[I have a scanner and printer to make copies],or you can make copies[I will send whatever amount needed to make copies and and also for s&h costs].Whatever you want to do.
My ggrandmother's name was Bertha Eggebrecht. She married Joseph Bondie[my paternal ggrandfather]
Bertha was born in 1865 in Michigan.
According to my mother's records,Charles was born in 1873,but was born in Michigan, not Wisconsin as the census states.
My mother did genealogy on her and my father's family, until she passed away in 1998.
So I deciced to continue her research.
It is so wonderful finding new cousins doing this research.
You can e-mail me at anytime.I'd love to keep in contact with you.
Let me know if you need my address, and I'll send it to you.
Take care and keep in touch.
Happy Holidays to you and your family!
Beth[Bondie] Metts
