Is this name German/ Prussian?

I've been thinking on my g-grandfathers name and where it could have come from. Lucius was his given name. As his surname was Cole, knowing my Cole line, there is no one named that. But his mother was from Prussia. None of her siblings look to have that name, atleast according to the census'. But thinking on her father who died in 1860, he, was, according to the 1850 census, went by Theodore. But i'm wondering if his "given" name could have been Lucius? I understand that Germans/ Prussians went by their middle names. Is Lucius German/ Prussian?

This is what I found when I "googled". Try it and look around.

"Lucius is one of the small group of common forenames found in the culture of ancient Rome. It is derived from the Latin lux, meaning light."
