Hi AGain, You must be Bruce Mihalich who contacted me through the GAther network.

I read your information you posted on Ancestry. You are a cousin of mine. I will have to dig the document out and review your part of the family tree.

The country, and area are the same.

I am rusty on all the particulars since it was 2002 when I last looked at this information.

Amazingly I have one elderly aunt, age 96, who could give us more details about the past. I have been meaning to travel to visit her before it is too late but as usual find my life too busy. Your connection reminds me to do so.

My email is mbleskan2002@yahoo.com. What is yours?

Lets chat soon.

Sincerely,

Michele Bleskan

Looking Kutil Family from Kutna Hora

Joseph Kutil ( 1875 ) and Anna Heberova ( 1874 ) Both were from Kutna Hora. They were my grandparents. They married so young, ( 15 and 16 ) and had 13 kids. All girls. Many died in their infancy, and only 7 stayed alive to adulthood. My mother was the smallest one. Their names were : Ruzena, Bozena, Zdenka, Mana,Stephy, Anny and my mother, Vlasta Illonka. ( She was born in 1914 ). They moved to Prague in the latest 20's) . I don't know anything about this part of the family. As my mother told us, her father, had many brothers and sisters. Maybe, some of them, emigrated to America.
My mother went out of Prague during the WWII, and never came back. She married in Colombia,( 1944 .) and we were born down there. If somebody knows something about my mom's family, I would be very happy !
Thanks,
Conny Pinzon K.

I am looking for any information on Anna Tichacek. She was born 26 Nov 1871 and died 11 April 1954 in Salem, Oregon. I know she lived in Wisconsin before she came out to Oregon as that is where her marriage is listed. She married Nelson Vanderhoof. After several years they moved out to Oregon. Anna's family is from Bohemia - I don't know names or anything. I do not even know the names of any of her brothers or sisters. If you have any information to help me find Anna's parents or siblings I would be greatful. I know she lived around Sheboygan and Antigo, Wisconsin when she was younger. Thanks.

My Great Grandmother, Anna Vrzal arrived in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 1882. She was the daughter of John Vrzal and Elizabeth Kubat and came to the United States with Thomas Nemec and his wife Veronica Kubat. Anna Vrzal was born on July 26, 1876 in the village of Stitov. Would love to hear from anyone with connections to these families or who might advise me on how to research these Czech (Bohemian) families. Thanks!

Jim Sutton

My gg grandmother, Josephine Benish was born 1848 in Bohemia. She emigrated in 1868 with her parents, John Benish and Mary Benish. Josephine had a brother, Albert, born in 1868 in Wisconsin, according to the 1900 Census (at that time, Mary and Albert lived in West St. Paul, Minnesota). I cannot find any record of Albert in the Wisconsin birth records, however. John could have been a brother to Antonin, I suppose.

Hi ....we may be distant cousins. My grandfather was Peter Bleskan who emigrated in 1906 and was born in 1888 in Czechslovakia. My father was Peter George Bleskan born in 1921 in Superior, Wisconsin.

We have the family genealogy completed for my great grandfather's family Michael Bleskan (1881dob), descendants of gggf Pavol Bleskan (1812dob) and ggggf Jan Bleskan (prior to 1800). Curiously Pavol and Jan had only one child....hard to believe in the 1800's.

Possibly your John Bleskan is related to the above family tree or a branch we don't know about. Any information you have would be appreciated. If interested I could send you the genealogy infomation we have collected.

Thank you for your response. Sincerely, Michele Bleskan

My father (born 1951) and grandfater (born 1910) are both John Bleskan. Bleskan may indeed be the correct spelling. In Czech (my greatgrandfathers homeland) the word is translated "man with sparkling eyes". I also just found out my greatgrandfathers name is at Ellis Island, unchanged and kept for records.

Franczeiska Jasansky was my great grandmother on my father's side. All I know about her is that she moved from Czechoslovakia in the 1880s alone, and married my grandfather. They lived in the Midwest; I think in Wisconsin. She died in 1900, when my grandfather was two years old. I have tried desperately for years to find any living relatives in the Czech republic, or elsewhere, but have so little information.

Peter Bleskan & Helen Kurcinka (Dlha, Cz, SI>WI)

Am looking for any information on the ancestry of my grandparents Peter Bleskan and Helen Kurcinka(?). Immigrated in the early 1900's from Dlha, Cz. Sl. and settled in Bennett, Wisconsin. They had four children, Al, Lillian, Helen and George bleskan. Peter died somewhere around 1926 and Helen worked as a maid for her remaining years. I know more about Peter than Helen's ancestry. I cannot seem to find the Ellis Island's records for either of them. I believe the last names may be spelled differently. Or the stories we pass on are incorrect as to when they came to America and why. Some of the first names of siblings of Peter are Andrej, Pauline, Mary, Ann, Michael Bleskan. for Helen she had half sisters and brothers when her mother remarried. They are Tony, Christina, Anna, Johanna and Pauline. Helen and her siblings may have different last names, possible Horvath. Helen parents were Anna Barkor and Joseph Kurcinka. Anna was married before and possibly widowed or abandoned. The story is my grandmother Helen left Europe at the age of 17 to get away from her stepfather. Any information will be helpful./ Michele Bleskan

Cecilia Braun and Wenzel Kapinos

Hello Helen,
I found your message containing information about Wenzel Kapinos and Cecilia Braun. I was so happy because their daughter, Flora, is my great great great grandmother. We have very little information on her parents -just names and estimated birth years. Do you happen to have any more information on them and their families? I would appreciate any information you might have and be willing to share.
I was so excited to find your message. Thanks so much!
Peggy
