Prokipchak/Prokopchak, Murianka, Smakula, Hnatyk, Koltko
My family lines are from these areas and on the whole, emigrated to Olyphant PA and surrounding area. I would be most interested if anyone has come across information regarding Prokipchak/Prokopchak, Murianka, Smakula, Hnatyk or Koltko surnames.
Many thanks,
Tracy

Hello Marek,
I notice that you are living in Nowa Sol. I wonder if you can help me.... ? I am trying to research my ancestors who were living in Freystadt (Kozuchow)between 1880 and 1940.. but I am struggling to find any information.
I live in Australia so cannot access local records, can you provide any guide as to where to look on the web ?
Regards
Phil

I am curious to know your connection to the family name Murianka. Yes, Muriankas are aslso related to the Smarkola family.

Hi Tracey;
Hoping you are still out there ...
My grandmother was a Smakula, married to a Stabach - that immigrated to Olyphant, PA in 1914. I grew up in that area and still have family there. The family came from Glinik Mariampolski (near Gorlice) and I'm pretty sure that my grandmother's family was from Macina Welyka. My Dad always said that she had 2 sisters, one that lived in NYC - but I haven't been able to locate.

I'm able to make research in Glinik Mariampolski and also in some cases in Mecina Wielka (Macina Velyka). Most of Mecina Wielka population was greek-catholic (Lemko nationality) - is it your case?
