Am looking for any information on ELIZABETH GOLDMAN (1841-1909), born in Pennsylvania, married to DAVID LIDDLE in Schuylkill County, 1858. I particularly need information on her father, CHRISTIAN GOLDMAN (b. PA), & her mother ___ TIMMERMAN or ZIMMERMAN, & any earlier generations.

Hello,

There were actually 2 daughters of Jacob Foulkrod and Phebe Moore that married Samuel C Peters.

Samuel C Peters married Margaret (alt: Margaretta) Jane Foulkrod (my great great grandparents). They had 4 children: Walter P Peters (my great grandfather), Frederick Steinback Peters, John Muir Peters, and a stillborn child. Margaret died of pneumonia on 20 Dec 1891 a day after giving birth to their stillborn child- it was a premature birth. She is buried in the Bridesburg Presbyterian Burial Grounds along with her stillborn child.

In 1893, Samuel married Margaret's sister, Mary Emma. Mary Emma had been previously married to James B. Holton and they had 1 child, Ethel E. Holton. It appears as though James died in 1891. Mary Emma and Samuel had 3 children together: Selina Keighly Peters, Leona A Peters and Edna May Peters. Both Selina and Edna died as infants. I have not been able to find out much about Leona. Mary Emma died 18 Nov 1902 of tuberculosis and is buried in Oxford cemetery. Samuel, Selina and Enda are buried in Bridesburg Presbyterian Burial Grounds.

I'd love to hear from any relatives!

Laura

This is where I have been stuck for years. My 3great grandfather, Jacob Sarg was b. 1796. I'm not sure if in Berks Co. PA or overseas. He m. Catherine Bernhardt and both are buried in Dunkel Church Cemetery in Lenhartsville, Berks, PA. I have not been able to trace Jacob any further back than this. Any light you may be able to shed on this problem would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Bill Sark

Do you have proof that he is brother of Frederick? A few years ago Bill Huff wrote me and suggested such, but we had no proof. He had found on a film at LDS the following:
JOHANN VALENTIN HUFF Born October 5, 1723, Alsenz, Pfalz, Bayern, Germany
Parents: Paulas Huf and Anna Maria Weber
Baptized October 9, 1723, Reformed Church, Alsenz, Germany
Sponsors: Johannes Weber; Valentin Weber; Susanna Maria Elisabetha[Weber].
LDS Film 0193751 located in Los Angeles FHC.

Valentine emigrated on ship Phoenix in 10/1744 arriving in Phila on the 20th from Rotterdam:
ship list: 105) Oct. 20, 1744 . Foreigners imported in the ship Phoenix, William Wilson, Captain, from Rotterdam , last from Cowes .
Valentine HUSS [sic HUFF]

Why would he be Moravian if baptized in Reformed church? His name never appears in records in Berks Co baptizing any children that he and Mary KERST had. I did find they had rented 100 acres of tobacco land in Carroll's Manor (a Moravian area) in Frederick Co MD, rent rolls 1769-1771, before they went down to Rowan Co. I could never find any church records for the family there, either.

Diana in AL

Believe it or not I just re-discovered your reply to my post in 1999. I believe I missed it years ago because right after this got posted I began my move back to Germany. I don't even remember the posting.

In any case, John and Catherine Long (Braun) were born in Germany and moved to PA where Henry was born Sep 11 1831. I have no idea what county in PA. or a village in Germany In IN Henry and wife Paulina wound up in Rush Cty.

If you are still there perhaps you have some more info.

Don Long

I am responding to a rather old post from 1999 requesting information on Jacob Grimm & Margaret (Fixx) Grimm of Dallastown, PA. These were my great grand parents on my mother's side: (My maternal grandmother was Alice Virginia Grimm (married to Isaac N. Klinedinst, who passed away in 1941, she then married George Heilman-2nd marriage) Alice was one of two Grimm daughters of (I believe) 9 total Grimm children, the other daughter was Margaret (Burger married Roy Burger). They had several brothers including but not limited to Clyde, Orb, Jennings, Thomas-Tom, Tyrus, the 7th son might have been Jacob. I am interested in any related information on my maternal grandfather Isaac N. Klinedinst as well as the Grimm family.

I also have a copy of a document titled "The Descendants of Johannes Ruhl," typed by my mother from transcripts brought to a Ruhl family reunion in the 1930s.

Minor point and not relevant to your query, but for the record: Appolonia is a misspelling of Apollonia. It's the feminine form of the name of the Greek god, Apollo.

I don't know of any evidence that Appolonia's maiden name was Mulholland. On the other hand, I am impressed by the circumstantial evidence (on Franklin Stahl's website) suggesting that her maiden name was MEYER. Regarding the claim that Appolonia was buried at the Egypt Reformed Church cemetery, that has to be a mistake or a fabrication.
