I live in the log and stone home owned by CPT Peter Ickes at 14 east king street Abbottstown, pa 17301. Ickes was a captain in the rev. war york county militia and was in the "flying camp." I read that he was on George Washingtons staff and i need to verify this. Also, it was reported in newpaper at the time that Gen G Washingto ate his supper at the Peter Ickes Hotel during the Whiskey Rebellion. Moreover, there is an etching of him on a pewter mug located at Winterthur Museum in Wil, DE I have a copy of the photo.
