My grandfather was Jacob Harbold Gentzler. My step aunt from my grandfather's previous marriage was Loretta or Retta Cox of St. Louis Missouri. She had 2 sons Wesley and maybe Orville. My father was Samuel A. Gentzler born January 8, 1901 in Hume, Missouri. My grandmother's name was Emma Suzanna Werner Gentzler. I never knew either one of them because both had died about the time I was born in 1935. My father was next to the youngest of 11 natural brothers and sisters and 2 step siblings, Retta and Nathan. My aunts and uncles were Henry, Bertha, Lydia, Luther, Jacob, Mable, Clorinda (Jenny), George, Simon Peter, Otis (Doc). We would be happy to hear if this is your family. We have known for years that is family in Pennsylvania, but had never been able to trace anyone. Where are you located. We have been in Joplin for 27 years--moved here from Hutchinson Kansas

Hallejulla----God does answer our prayers! Yes you are a part of my family!!!! My father was Orville Nathaniel the baby of Henerietta (Retta) & Perrian Spiller Cox. I have been searching for years to find relatives of the Gentzler side, but was hitting brick walls everywhere, then suddenly I am getting in touch with some of the cousins. Grandma was the oldest of her father's children, then Nathan. Their mother was Lyda
(varied spelling:Lida/ Lydia/Lidia) don't know for sure which spelling is correct. She passed away at age 23, then he married Emma Werner & had 11 more children. They are buried in the old City Cemetery in Liberal, Ks. On their headstone is this inscription: Gentzler (in the center), on the left side is : Jacob 1844-1932 Right side: Emma 1862-1933 Between the dates are the square & compasses on Gr.Grndpa's & on Gr.Grandma's there is an Order of the Eastern Star emblem. I had never known she belonged to that order, but knew he had been a member of the Forgo Masonic Lodge for many years.
I was born in St. Louis, Mo. married a young man who went into the Air Force & we landed here in Schertz, Tx.
I will send you an E-mail with my linage. My Grandmother was b. Sept. 27,1875; d.Oct. 18, 1965 @ 6:20A.M. in St. Louis, Mo. She had these childre: Winnie Viola-Sept. 14, 1899 in Metz, Mo., d.Nov.16, 1991; Andrew Jackson- Dec.19, 1901, d. I must have missed this earlier but since you are related to the York Co. Yohe's. Do you recall any information from Abraham Yohe died 1824, wife Catharine, surname unknown. At time of his death he left 4 minor daughters, Mary Catharine, Violet, Sarah and Matilda. Abraham died in York township. I haven't been able to locate his place of burial or what happened to his widow and daughters. The daughter Mary I do have, she is my 2nd gt. grandmother that married Henry Sechrist.

Thanks for any input.

I *think* Abraham was the son of Michael Yohe (1746-1832) who immigrated in 1754, settled in Easton, Northampton Co PA, married Mary Shouse, and in the 1790's took his whole family to Washington Co PA. Michael has a missing son Abraham, for whom extensive searching has found no other candidates; similarly, extensive research has found no other likely candidates for Abraham's father. I have an atDNA match with a descendant of Mary Yohe Sechrist, but there are other shared surnames in our trees so can't be certain the match is through Abraham.

I am pretty sure that Abraham married Catharine Weinhold, daughter of George Weinhold, and they had five daughters (the last, Catherine -- not Mary Katherine -- born in 1724, after Abraham's death and does not show up in his estate papers). Catharine Weinhold Yohe m(2) Henry Sechrist (also his second marriage) and Catharine's daughter Mary married Henry's son Henry Jr. Most Ancestry trees that include Henry Sr. say he married Catharine Weinhold but don't show her first marriage.

Would be glad to share what documentation I have, and to learn what else you have found in the past 7 years or so.
