Germans in Cincinnati / Meissner

Classification: Query
Surnames: Meissner
Hi,
My search began with the 1850 census for Cincinnati where I found Eliza Meissner /born about 1800, New Jersey; and daughter, Amelia / born 1838, Pennsylvania. There is no father (born in Germany) or other siblings listed. I know the cholera epidemic came through Cincinnati and killed many Germans. The German community was hardest hit. I am now looking for records (ie German newspapers of that time, birth/death records, school records, city directories, etc)of the German community to see if I can find information on Amelia's father. Can you help me out?

Yours, Lenore
