Hi Leslie,
The location "Iangtora" is most likely Långtora, a parish in the county of Uppsala. (I have no idea what or where "Parisa" is.)
http://www.sna.se/bin/ort.cgi?LANG=EN&S=E&O=L%E5ngto...Perhaps this is your friend's Erik August Fredriksson. Information comes from the Emihamn database of CD Emigranten (the Emigrant CD). The parish from which he departed wasn't listed, but that friend can be found in the birth records, which have been microfilmed and can be ordered from any Family History Center.

If this is not the right person, remember that this name is very common and it is best to provide locations (not just a state) where he lived and also find the year of immigration in the U.S. Federal Censuses for 1900-1910-1920-1930. Much more can be learned about researching in Sweden on an ACTIVE board, such as the following one. I hardly ever check these inactive boards, and few who could be helpful would either.
