Surnames: Godemann, Huebener, Schmidt, Kasten, Papenhagen, Koppelmann, Kruse, Kiel, Wichmann, Eichoff, Schoof, Schroeder, Niemann, Scharff, Witt, Bauer, Finck

I am happy to report that Godemann's in Nebraska ancestors have been located in Klein Belitz and Neukirchen near Buetzow. Also
they were from other towns of Satow, Penzin, and Wokrent. These towns are located in far northeastern Germany, or 100 miles northwest of Berlin, between Rostock and Guestrow in the current German state of Mecklenburg-Vorpomern, called
Mecklenburg-Schwerin back in the 19th Century.

They supplied me with information on Godemann's and Huebener's in Nebraska and Neukirchen, Germany and I had the church records for Neukirchen which showed some of the birthdates that linked.

Also one their ancestor's ships, the Vandalia, was located using the "Germans to America" series that had Godemann's, Kiel's, and
Papenhagen's all together. The dates on the actual Hamburg to New York shiplist verified with known dates from Nebraska and Neukirchen
and the town showed Klein Belitz, Mecklenburg. The Vandalia left Hamburg on 15 October 1882 with Captain Barlow and 993 passengers.

Ted Godemann's GGGG grandparents were Johann Friedrich Godemann and Maria Dorothea Wichmann, married in 1824 at Neukirchen.
They had 8 children. One of their children was Johann Christian Albrecht Godemann who married Anna Maria Sophia Schroeder in 1861 at
Neukirchen. Johann age 48 and his wife Anna age 51 were on the ship Vandalia with their 2 children Sophia 19 and Carl 16.

After ordering the Satow parish records, north of Neukirchen, a link was established with more Godemann ancestors dating back to Ted's
8th Great grandfather born around 1627 in Satow.

If anyone has anymore information on any of these surnames from Neukirchen and Satow region near Buetzow please let me know. Beth
Cook is currently researching the Neukirchen films for Huebener's who married into the Godemann's, Koppelmann's and Nieman's and
would appreciate any info on these families. Ted also has some Kruse's buried in Falls City, Nebraska that I have been unable to link to my
Kruse, so far.

Please visit my website, linked below, to see the details on these people. Use the link to my "index", or the link to my "Kruse Family Tree" at
my website to see the family tree on-line at RootsWeb World Connect Project.

I have these surnames in the Mecklenburg-Schwerin area around Neukirchen.

Can you tell me what info you have that Christian Finck is your gggg grandfather?

What are his birth or death dates, do you have a town name, what other info do you have, like immigration, or descendants, where did they settle in the U.S.?

With this info I can try to find him for you.

Hi this lot didnt settle in the US they settled in South Australia. Not sure of any dates but the closet think i might have to a date is that on the natualisation papers was the date of 1865 and you have to be in australia for 10 yrs so im guessing that he came over in 1855. Christian Joachin Theodore Finck had 7 children so i just found out i know that 2 of them at least to a woman named Hanna maria augusta dorothea schmidt. one of those children was my line, a son by the name of edward heinrich t ( guess theodore) finck who then married a lady by the name of harriet harmer they had 3 children by the names of stacey, percy and hyrtal. stacey then married daisey adalaide then came my grand father christian then my dad brian then me. long and confusing. hope that helps. I know that the first christian origanly came from klein bollhagen, grand duchy of mecklenburg according to the natralisation papers.
