Thanks for checking. I'll go to Antlers and to the Bryan County Heritage Center in Calera next week to see if I can find answers to my questions. Grandmother Sophia married a Thurlow so, hopefully, I can find more on that line as well.

I just did a little checking on ancestry.com for Gabriel Burris and Isaac Burris but didn't find anything truly solid to conncect except for the following:

Civil War Service Records:
Name: Burris, Gabriel.
Company: "G".
Unit: 1 Choctaw Mounted Rifles.
Rank @ Discharge: Private.
Allegiance: Confederate.

Not sure if this is the father of your Isaac Burris as the above was the only information listed. If you think this is your ancestor you can order his service records from the National Archives but not sure if they would contain information regarding his wife and children or parents.

Thanx for all the info. Isaac Burris is my GGgrandfather. I have done a little research on the Choctaw side and research on the Chickasaw side. I never came up with this much info. for the Burris side. I always ran into a brick wall. This is very informative and helpful. Thanx again!!!

Isaac Burris is a difficult name to research. Colbert Burris b. 1827 had a son named Isaac. Judge Gabriel Burris b. 1816 had a son named Isaac. And the Isaac Burris I'm researching b. 1820, d. 1897, to the best of my knowledge also named a son Isaac.

Hi, wondered if you could give me information on a John Wesley PARKER, listed on Dawes Roll as Full Blood Chickasaw. His daughter, Mary Levinia PARKER, b. 1824 married William Isaac Gardner, b. 1824. Their son John Wesley Gardner was my ggrandfather, b. 1849/50. Thanks,

The information I posted for the "Chickasaw by Blood Enrollment Cards" came from a partial list that was published in the "South Eastern Native American Exchange" Vol. 8, No. 1, Fall 2000, ISSN 1085-6293; John Wesley Parker was not on the partial list. The above publication lists a website http://www.angelfire.com/al/senaexchange/ that may offer other volumes that could contain the information you need.

I did check another source that does list a J. Wesley Parker in the index which turned out to be a "John Wesley Parker" who's parents died when he was young and was raised by his aunt, Hettie Frazier widow of Jackson Frazier. His aunt's Indian name was Hamalula-tubby and after the death of Jackson Frazier she married Cyrus Harris. The bio-sketch does not mention J. Wesley Parker's parents names or the names of his aunt's parents. It doesn't even mention if Parker was married. This source was originally published in 1891. If this is your John Wesley Parker maybe his aunt's Indian name will help you in your research.

If possible I would like to know more about Annie Burris. Was she born in the year 1953?
Thank you

The Annie Burris I was referring to was born about 1860. I have info on two other Annie's born in 1881 and 1902. I have a record of an Annette Burris whose birth date I don't know, but her sister Barbara was born in 1961. Her parents were William "Bill" Calvin Burris and Joan McGhee. She married a Biggs and lives/lived? in Tishomingo, Johnston Co. Ok.
