Classification: Query
Surnames: Ellington Richardson Whittington
Osta T. Ellington is what is on the 1870 census for the daughter of William and Martha Ellington. We know my great grandmother as Austa Tennesse Ellington Richardson whom died in Coleman County Texas. Thanks to the LDS 1880 searchable census my husband finally made the break through to finding Austa's parents this past week. Austa and John Richardson only lived about six houses from William and Martha. With the kind help of Bruce Wiland of Bosque County, he did a 1860 and 1870 census lookup of William and Martha.
He then checked the Bosque County marriage records and found that Osta T Ellington married John Richardson 15 Oct 1873. A Match! Just misspelling has kept us from finding the family. In the meanwhile my husband located William and Martha's graves with the help of the Bosque Co. Cemetery lists on the internet.
So here is where we are: What are the sources for Shoeboot to William? Would you please privately send me your link to your Ancestory.com for your family you mention? I have tried finding it by the search function but I can't find your information. I will get a copy of the book,Daughter Of Shiloh, as soon as I can. Also I would love to contact the lady in Texas you mentioned whom is tied to William and Martha Ellington. Sorry for the long message and thank you very much for your help. You have made my day!
Since families often traveled together in those days, your right, we could have a Richarson connection as well.
