Thanks, I realize there are many James & Jesse Vann's, the search is tough. My gg-grandmother was Jennie
Vann, b. abt 1820-30, she married David
McCracken. Jennie's father was Jesse
Vann b. maybe 1800. His father was Chief James 'Blue Eyes'
Vann. b. abt 1775ish. Chief
Vann was in
GA. When he passed he left his
Mansion Home, this was prior to the removal in 1838, to his son Joe 'Rich Joe'
Vann. These are my Vann's. Although I know that many
Vann surnames througout the region of TN, NC, VA and of course
GA were kin. Starr's research and that of Jim R. HIcks regarding the
Vann and
Hicks family, niether state what happened to Jesse
Vann [above]. I 'think he went to TN or possibly HC. He was not the only
Vann to escape the removal and whereabouts unknown. Jennie [
Vann]
McCracken is on the
Guion Miller Roll along with her son William, it is hand written in the census. Maybe this will help. If you all think I can help you I certainly will. What you have posted so far, I do not have in my files. Thanks, Jeanie
