I'm searching for some connection of a marriage to a Cherokee person before the 1835 Indian Removal Act. My Dad just informed me that we have Black Dutch from our Cook side. The furthest I've gotten is; David Washington Cook B. 1881 - D. 1919. His mother's name was; Sallie Cook (Her married name) B. abt 1828. I think she was widowed because the 1870 Census has her only as Farmer with her (the older ones) Children listed as Farmer or farm labours, Their ages are 21 to 5 years, David was 16 at that time & the second Child(?).
