My Grandfather was supposably a full blooded Cherokee Indian. He changed his name at some point in his life. I do not know his Indian name or his tribe. His Americanized name was Thomas Franklin McGowan. He was born in Tennessee. I would like to find any information about his birth and tribe as I could, but I do not know where to start.
