I saw in one of your posts that you had two uncles named , #1 Mikajah (spelling?)Weaver and can't recall the other one right now. They were my uncles, too. Their brother, Gideon Weaver, born 1820-21 in N.C., was my 3rd great grandfather. Mikajah was born about 1838, his father Isaac, born about 1790 in Ashe or Allegheny Co., N. Carolina and mother was Mahala Reese (not certain this is her last name). Isaac and Mahala Weaver are my 4th great grandparents. Do you have their families Indian history from the Arkansas era to some that went to Oklahoma? Would appreciate any help?

Looking for this information in the states of Tennessee and Texas... My gg grandfather Elihue W. Hartless supposedly was nearly if not full blooded Cherokee Indian, but we can not find anything else about him as far as who his parents were, ect... We have also found his name spelt Elisu W. I am looking for a way to verify what I've been told for years by members of my family.... that I look and act exactly like my gg?grandmother, Nancy Jane, who was Cherokee. However, I have no way of verifying this information. Everyone who could have told is now long gone. She may have been from Browns, Carters, or Kents of Greene County (I think) in East Tennessee. She may have been adopted into the family ... just a guess. Someone once told me that she would help deliver babies and was once paid with a turkey for her services. Does any of this sound familiar to anyone?

I was wondering if you had found any information on the cherokee indian connection to the name Brazel, my great grandmother was Mary Ann Brazel, before she married my great grandfather Robert Marion Cline in 1881, and according to family legend, she was supposed to be of cherokee or choctaw origin. my grandfather was from Yell county, Pope county and Little River county Arkansas before he married Mary Ann Brazel, and all I know about her is that she was born in Texas. they married in 1881 and lived in Arkansas, Oklahoma and Texas after their marriage, but I dont know where they met or married. if you have any information, i would really appreciate the help. thanks, emma bishop
