Happy to hear you have found information you sought about your families. Would you share exactly where on "Ancestry" that you found the information? Was it in a specific database or in an online tree?
It would be interesting to learn how you made the discovery and linked your line back to those (Poindexters?) in Surry County, NC and Virginia. The story of the discovery is always interesting and can be helpful to others.
There is one misconception I'd like to point out and that is about "Black Dutch" -- no matter how widespread you find it online, it does not mean Cherokee (or Native American) and it is does not mean Dutch (from Netherlands). Like the misnomer of "Pennsylvania Dutch" -- it refers to those of Germanic origins.
