I Pray someone can help me. My Great Grandfather was born 1 November 1891 in Wisconsin on an indian reservation, he always said "Be Proud to be a Chippewa Indian". I wish now I knew more about him, he died 9 June 1970. When he was born his name was "Running Deer", somewhere along the lines he changed his name to "Ysais Espinosa", I have heard several reasons why.... He died in Neenah near Menasha, Winnebago county, Illinois. I don't know where he was born. His wife was Agnes Williams and is buried in Grant county, Cassville Wisconsin. He had 14 or 15 siblings, one of them a brother I hear was Steve. His death certificate gives no clues, I have no idea why but for parents it says unknown, nobody wanted to share this information so they must have said unknown. I ordered his SS-5 from the Social Security Dept but haven't heard back yet. Does anyone have any clues for me to follow up on?? I appreciate any & all help!
