I have 2 people that I'm trying to confirm actually existed. There have been stories about them in my family for as long as I can remember. The first is a woman named Gayfeather. She was on the Trail of Tears with her family. She made a ruckus so that her family could flee. They did flee and their families still live in Oklahoma. Gayfeather was shot and killed for doing that. The other person is a Cherokee Chief Joseph Burrell. My great aunt talked to a Chief in North Carolina. He said he knew who Joseph was but wouldn't give us his Indian name because he was famous. Does anyone out there know anything about the people I have mentioned? If you do I would love to talk to you. Thank you in advance.
