According to a relative, my husband's grandmother was from the Ioway Tribe and was adopted by a doctor and his wife in the late 1890s. Her name was Mary (went by Mae)Elizabeth Fargo and she was born October 19, 1897. She listed her place of birth as Liberty, Clay County, Missouri and her parents as Silas Denmark Fargo and Mary Margaret Yates Fargo. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
