Classification: Query

There has never been a Cherokee Chief named POLLY.
The Trail of Tears took place between 1838 and 1839. It was the forced removal of Cherokee Citizens from their Nation in the southeast and is extremely well documented.

There's nothing to suggest that Minerva POLLY or her descendants were anything other than free white citizens of the United States.

James GILBERT + Manerva POLLY married June 12 1836 Polk Co MO.
(A copy of this record may be available.)

1840 Polk Co MO
Division 1
Pg 149
Manerva GILBERT
1 free white male under 5
2 free white females under 5
1 free white female 30-39
